Internal Assessments

The Internal Assessments area is designed to help students and teachers work much more efficiently on the IB Economics IA process. It supports both the early article-selection stage and the later draft-improvement stage, so users can make stronger choices and then improve their commentary with clear guidance.

In the article workflow, users can upload or submit a candidate article and have it analysed from multiple angles. The tool looks at issues such as source quality, publication date, length, the relevance of the chosen key concept, and the article’s overall potential for economic analysis, evaluation, and diagram use. It then produces a structured judgement with an overall suitability score and criterion-by-criterion feedback explaining the strengths and weaknesses of the article.

In the draft workflow, users can upload an IA commentary draft and receive a much deeper analysis aligned with IB Economics expectations. The system reviews areas such as terminology, concepts, diagrams, analysis, and evaluation, then produces predicted marks by criterion together with detailed feedback on what is already working, what needs improvement, and how the next version can be made stronger.

The purpose of the tool is not to replace the teacher. It is to give students much more precise, independent guidance between lessons and to help teachers reduce repetitive corrections by moving drafts closer to the rubric before the next round of feedback.

  • Analyse article suitability before writing begins
  • Check source, date, length, key concept choice, and IA potential
  • Upload drafts for detailed feedback across terminology, concepts, diagrams, analysis, and evaluation
  • Receive predicted marks by criterion and structured next-step guidance
  • Built to help students work more independently and teachers save time
